Description
The French Ski School(ESF) is located in the centre of the resort. The school is a certified training centre and has 80 qualified instructors and 6 mountain guides who instruct all types of snow sports - skiing, cross country skiing, snowboard, telemark, snowshoeing and skwal.
The ESF offers different types of lessons for children :
Piou Piou (3 to 4 years)
Piou Piou the cheeky little chick welcomes young children and entertains them with stories. Skiing is fun! (go to the Ski Kindergarten page)
Espace Ourson (5 years and over)
Children will enjoy their first time sliding on snow and experience the wonderful world of the mountains in winter in a fun and happy atmosphere. They will learn to ski and progress at their own pace with a method specially adapted for young children.
A specially designed , safe area for children of 3 and over equipped with heated chalets, hot drinks, a draglift, rope tows, magic carpet, bumps, fun figures, gully and kid’s skiercross etc.
Group lessons ( 5 years and over) : 8 pupils per instructor!
Lessons last 2 1/2 hours (except school holiday period : 2 hours)
Times : mornings 9.30 am to 12, afternoons 2 pm to 4.30 pm
school holiday period : 9am to 11am – 11am to 1pm.
The 2 ½ hrs session ( 2 hours during the school holidays) includes instruction and return trip on the “télénacelle” bucket lift ( free for our pupils)to the Espace Ourson. An explanatory leaflet is available from the ESF (French Ski School).
Group lessons are held every day except Saturday afternoons. The Saturday afternoon lesson is brought forward to Saturday morning.
At the end of the week, all children who pass the test are rewarded with the Ourson(teddy bear) medal (not included in the price of lessons).

From beginner to Gold Star level for children up to 13 years – 2.30pm to 5pm

(we reserve the right to modify numbers in each group if needed to keep groups of the same level)
You can book the ‘first time on skis’ ski pass online for children over 5 who are taking “flocon” (snowflake) and 1
st star lessons.

Snowflakes and Stars (Flocons and Etoiles)
Children in Flocon, 1st, 2
nd, 3rd stars, Bronze and gold star classes will learn how to ski whilst having fun. After the gold star you can take the “club fréquence” lessons.
Group lessons take place every day except on Saturday afternoons. The Saturday afternoon lesson is brought forward to Saturday morning.

We offer :
beginners’ instruction adapted specifically to the runs in Risoul ( everyone will be able to ski down a blue run after a week of lessons).
Improver’s instruction that takes each skier’s abilities and motivation into account - improve your skills and progress whilst enjoying yourself.
Our professionalism, our dynamic approach and the great atmosphere in our lessons mean that you can ski on La Forêt Blanche area in complete safety.
Average of 10 skiers in each class.
