The Church hamlet in the small village of Risoul is located at an altitude of 1100 m. Take time to breathe in the pure, dry air and enjoy a magnificent view over the glaciers of the massif des Ecrins.
The Lombard Romanesque style church, dedicated to Saint Lucie, dates from the beginning of the 16th century. It was built on the foundations of an old chapel and has many remains of the original building from the 13th and 14th centuries. The old porch and its roof form a shelter on carved pillars.The new porch is decorated with scallop shells – Saint Jacques in French – evidence that “The Way of St James” pilgrimage route passes by.
